  • Ken Miller, CEO

    Ken joined Anchor Intelligence in December 2006 as CEO. Prior to joining Anchor Intelligence, Ken spent the previous seven years with PayPal, Inc. where he was Vice President of Risk Management. Ken was the first anti-fraud employee hired by PayPal and is responsible for building the world-class systems and global organization the company enjoys today. During his time at PayPal, Ken also served on PayPal’s senior executive team, which was responsible for the financial health and strategic vision of the company. Ken has been interviewed numerous times by various technical and general news analysts and media, and is considered an expert in the field of online fraud and payments risk.

    Prior to joining PayPal, Ken worked for a variety of banking institutions, most recently with First Bank & Trust, where he had fraud and operations responsibilities for over 30 retail banking offices. Ken serves as an advisor to several companies including TradeVibes.com, and is also a managing partner in a privately held thoroughbred ownership group established with the intent of using mathematics and data analysis to guide operating decisions.

  • Marc Brown, CTO and Co-Founder

    Prior to co-founding Anchor Intelligence with Jim Pitkow and Ron Conway, Marc was CTO at Vendavo, where he led the overall design of the Vendavo system, an enterprise-class J2EE application for price management. Before that, Marc was the Architect of the Ariba client, an N-tier Java system. Prior to his work at Ariba, Marc was a research scientist at Digital’s Systems Research Center for a decade, where he was a world-renowned researcher in software visualization, user interfaces, and web browsing. Marc also serves as a Director of the American Computer Science League, a non-profit organization that runs computer contests for high school students.

    Marc received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University in 1987. His thesis, Algorithm Animation, was honored with the prestigious ACM Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation award and was published by the MIT Press. Dr. Brown is also the co-author of Software Visualization published by MIT Press.

  • Tobin Trevarthen, VP Business Development

    Toby joined Anchor Intelligence in May 2008 as the VP of Business Development. Prior to joining Anchor Intelligence, Toby was the founder of Spatial Shift, a strategic advisory firm specializing in revenue creation for several startups in mobile and e-commerce. Prior to Spatial Shift, Toby spent seven years at AOL in various senior management roles in both Business Development and Sales, most recently as Regional Vice President for AOL Media Networks.

    Toby brings to Anchor Intelligence 25 years of media and business development experience, with a track record of developing deep relationships with ad agencies, online advertisers, publishers, and traditional media. Toby worked for Time Warner twice over a 14-year period, running the West Coast Integrated Sales for Time Inc as well as for AOL. Prior to AOL, Toby was Vice President of Business Development for Alladvantage.com.

    Toby has also worked at Meredith Corporation, Gannett Corporation and started his career in the advertising agency business at Young & Rubicam. Toby graduated with a BA in Advertising from Michigan State University (1983). He also sits on the board of Sonoma Coast Vineyards, a Sonoma-based winery.

  • Michael Radwin, VP Engineering

    Michael leads Anchor Intelligence’s product development and production operations. Prior to joining Anchor, Michael spent eight years at Yahoo, where he served as a Director of Engineering in the Platform/Infrastructure Group, developing high-performance web- and data-serving systems and tools to manage clusters of tens of thousands of servers. In Yahoo’s Advertising and Data Systems Group, Michael created behavioral and keyword-based advertisement targeting programs using machine learning algorithms. Before Yahoo, Michael built the W3C Scalable Vector Graphics reference implementation as a member of Adobe’s Advanced Technology Group.

    Michael graduated from Brown University with Honors in Computer Science. He is an occasional speaker at Open Source conferences, covering topics such as high-performance PHP, HTTP caching and cache-busting, and calendar data.

  • Richard Sim, VP Product Management and Marketing

    Richard Sim brings over 12 years of experience in online analytics, scalable enterprise and consumer software, and strategy development. Prior to joining Anchor Intelligence, Richard led product management at Microsoft for Hotmail where he managed the complete overhaul and worldwide launch of the service to over 300 million users under the Windows Live brand. Under his management, Windows Live Hotmail was awarded a PC Magazine Editor’s Choice award for its superior user interface and features. Prior to Microsoft, Richard held key leadership roles in analytics and business development at Vividence, a user experience and analytics provider acquired by Keynote Systems (KEYN) in 2004. Previously, Richard was an Engagement Manager specializing in strategy development for clients in the high tech and new media sectors with Kaiser Associates, a boutique strategy consultancy.

    Richard holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business as well as a BA in Political Economy from U.C. Berkeley.

  • Jim Pitkow, Chairman and Co-Founder

    Most recently, Jim was CEO and Chairman of Moreover Technologies, where he successfully restructured the company through acquisition by VeriSign in October of 2005. Before Moreover, Jim was the President and Chairman of Outride Inc., a spinout from the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), which was acquired by Google. Prior to his work at Outride, Jim was a research scientist at Xerox PARC and Chair of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Characterization Activity.

    Jim received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1997. He graduated Cum Laude in Psychology from the University of Colorado in 1993.

  • Ron Conway, Co-Founder

    Ron was the Founder and Managing Partner of the Angel Investors LP funds (1998-2005). He now invests independently as an angel investor and was recently named #6 in Forbes Magazine’s Midas list of top “dealmakers” in 2006. Ron worked with National Semiconductor Corporation in marketing positions (1973-1979); Altos Computer Systems, as a co-founder, President and CEO (1979-1990); and Personal Training Systems (PTS) as CEO (1991-1995). PTS was acquired by SmartForce/SkillSoft (Nasdaq SKIL).

    Ron has served/serves on Boards/Advisory Boards including those of Facebook, Plaxo, Photobucket, Digg.com, Ask Jeeves, Napster, SNOCAP (co-founder), Soleil Securities, Zappos, and StumbleUpon.

    He is actively involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors including the UCSF Medical Foundation in San Francisco, where he serves as Vice Chairman; the Development committee of UCLA; the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford; and the Benefit Committee of the Tiger Woods Foundation.
